Ghorepani Poon Hill
Overview
Ghorepani lies in the Annapurna Conservation Area north of Pokhara. Starting at 1,100m and climbing to 3,210m, it offers far more spectacular views than you would expect of so short a trek — people, culture, vegetation and the Himalaya all packed into a few days. The warm hospitality of the Gurung and Magar people makes fine company on the trail, which follows an old trading route where you'll still meet mule caravans. Every April and May the rhododendron turns the hills colourful and pleasant. For anyone short on time, Ghorepani is the one.
